Future Forms | Cadillac Reveals Fully-Electric LYRIQ Show Car

The good folks over at Cadillac are back, and they have their eyes on the future. The iconic automaker returns to unveil the brand’s first-ever fully-electric vehicle. The LYRIQ serves as a showcase of innovation, while based on General Motors’ next-generation modular electric vehicle platform. The Ultium platform uses a customizable layout of stacked cells that help provide a range of over 300 miles on a single charge.

The system also allows the use of DC fast-charging over 150kW and Level 2 charging up to 19kW. The vehicle will be offered in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, also boasting a bevy of technological upgrades. Cadillac has implemented a dual-plane augmented reality head-up display and hands-free driver assistance and remote self-parking.

The LYRIQ also comes equipped with a curved 33-inch LED display as a dashboard, an AKG Studio audio system, and a road noise cancellation system. However, the LYRIQ is just being produced as a show car. Sad news for those interested in the vehicle; however, surely, Cadillac has something in the works for consumers.
