Future Forms | The Curtiss Hades By Curtiss Motorcycle Co.

As the electric motor begins to take the place of the internal combustion Power Plant more often, the way we design around it is changing too. Not only in automobiles, but in motorcycles as well. This time though, we aren’t talking a nerd scooter you can fold into a briefcase or something. The minds at Curtiss Motorcycle Co. are once again shocking a market that is only beginning to power up.

The Curtiss Hades is their latest model, causing people to ask, “What the hell was that?” In a design that looks as good on the road as it would in another sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, this electric streetfighter is really carving a line all it’s own. Powered by a 217hp proprietary electric motor and a 399 volt, 16.8 kWh battery, hidden inside an eye-catching finned aluminum housing, the Hades is devilishly fast.

Absolute minimalism and multifunctional parts at every opportunity keep the bike solid but nimble and always ready to rip. A double-wishbone parallelogram fork with machined 6061 aluminum girders and direct action, RaceTech mono-shock suspension will keep the 18” wheels glued to turns using high and low-speed compression and rebound dampening with up to 6” of travel. Without the need for a bulky traditional fuel tank, the team at Curtiss Motorcycle Co was able to dial in the minimalistic silhouette even more. The carbon fiber body panels closely hide computers and wiring.  The leather thigh pads and seat are the only other bolt-ons to the hand-welded tubular frame besides a mount for the rear suspension.

Foot pegs are integrated into the battery housing, and tail lights are positioned under the seat in a way that looks like they know you’ll be seeing it from behind often. Curtiss Motorcycle Co aims to have the Hades plugged in for a 2020 release. For more info and release, updates check out Curtiss Motorcycles
