Game Time | Gamer Grandma Gets Guinness Gratification

In a world filled with overnight celebrities and trends gone in a minute, it’s awesome to see success for someone who’s been around a while. 90 years is definitely a while. Meet Hamako Mori. The Japanese grandmother, Gamer who has recently been recognized with The Guinness World Record for the oldest Video Game Streamer. This isn’t some make a channel and get the paper scheme either. Views, hours watched, and subscription benchmarks had to be produced and verified. After 39 years in the game, or games, Mori has seen the rise of nearly every gaming platform ever. She claims Nintendo 64 is one of her all time favorites, but it’s PlayStation 4 you’ll find her on currently. She spends a decent amount of time on Grand Theft Auto 5.

When asked how she got into streaming, the 90-year-old replied, “I felt that if I started to play games, life would be really interesting and I wouldn’t have to think about unnecessary things. I’m glad to have lived till this age and I’m glad that I’ve learned how to play video games. I’m enjoying life.”

Gamer Grandma, as the channel is fittingly named, has 283k subscribers and that number will certainly increase as we all become more familiar with the most adorable streamer the internet knows.
