The other day we spread the word about the first-ever MTN DEW AMP GAME FUEL Celebrity pro-am tournament. The event took place in Long Beach, California, bringing together the biggest names in music, sports, and entertainment.
The top spot went to NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns and CoD World Champion Scump, who received the top prize of $25,000 to donate to the AbleGamers Charity. Players tried out a series of traditional 6v6 multiplayer matches, as well as the game’s intense new Gunfight 2v2 mode, more than a month before the epic title’s October 25th release. The live gameplay culminated in an epic showdown between T-Pain and FormaL versus Karl-Anthony Towns and Scump. KAT and Scump took home to the top spot, sharing a ton of MTN DEW AMP GAME FUEL swag, and, of course, some bragging rights for next year.
A secondary donation of $10,000 was also contributed to the Call of Duty Endowment. The event was a massive success, bringing together the world of sports and gaming for a unique experience. Check out some images from the event below and keep it locked with us at The Culture Curators for more from Mountain Dew coming very soon.
