Gaming Gets Elevated | NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro

The evolution of gaming has been quite a wild one. The Japanese video game stalwart SNK is taking things to a whole new level with their latest product. The NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro is essentially a game console in a controller. The NEOGEO was a cartridge-based home arcade system that released back in 1990. The system was host to some iconic titles including Metal Slug and Fatal Fury. Honoring the ’90s-era legacy of NEOGEO, SNK has packed 20 of its fighting games in the new device.

The controller simply needs to be hooked to a television for an incredible retro gaming experience. The controller features a crisp white shell while boasting a tiny red joystick and eight buttons. The two thin “mode indicator” buttons add more depth, also coming with “start/select” buttons, a turbo switch and ports for HDMI and USB. The device even features a NEOGEO mini PAD port. This allows the user wants to link the console to a NEOGEO mini. Other details include headphone output and a cable storage box. While no official release dates have been revealed, the NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro is expected to launch internationally in the near future.

Is this the future of gaming? Only time will tell. Take a look at the controller in the images below and head over to SNK to find out more about the device immediately. Stay tuned here to The Culture Curators for more from the gaming realm coming soon.
