Gaming Goes Retro | Love Hulten Unveils Retro-Inspired Gaming Console

Love Hulten has made quite a name for themselves through retro-inspired gaming console designs. The imprint has crafted some of the most beautifully designed retro gaming consoles on the market. The brand returns today with a look at their latest creation, which draws from the most influential designers of all time. The new console pays homage to just such a designer, Dieter Rams, and the Bauhaus minimalist movement.

The console, dubbed the R-Kaid-R SK-4, is a pared-down, eye-catching device. The design was inspired directly by Rams’ designs from his work with Braun. Influence came from the SK-4 record player and T3 pocket radio. The standalone portable unit is quite functional. This functionality comes in part to its unique details. The console boasts a foldable design, offering its own screen, built-in speaker and arcade-style controls. It also has an onboard computer capable of storing 10,000 game emulations and 10 straight hours of playtime. Sadly it doesn’t look like Love Hulten will be offering this console for the masses.

While we hope that will eventually change, we will certainly keep you in the know. Take a look at the retro-inspired gaming console in the images below and head over to Love Hulten to learn more. Keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the world of tech and gaming coming soon.
