The good folks over at Volkswagen are back in the news feed. Recently the automaker held its 4th Annual Drive-in Movie Event with special celebrity guest Shay Mitchell in Los Angeles. The automotive brand transformed an outdoor space of the Petersen Automotive Museum into a classic drive-in movie theater. The evening included light bites, cocktails, and a screening of Bumblebee, viewed from the comfort of various 2019 Volkswagen models. The film was a prequel to the popular Transformers franchise and found its titular character spending most of the film guised as a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.
The event was a drive-in movie like none other. Guests were among the first to see the brand’s all-new 2020 Atlas Cross Sport SUV. They were also treated to the Petersen Automotive Museum’s latest exhibition, “Building an Electric Future” featuring Volkswagen. Special guest, actress, model, entrepreneur, and author Shay Mitchell helped Volkswagen host the event. Mitchell, who recently welcomed the birth of her first child, Atlas Noa, was dressed in a Jean Paul Gaultier blazer. Coincidentally, Mitchell’s newborn daughter shares the same name as Volkswagen’s popular Atlas SUV.
Throughout the evening, Mitchell explored the all-new exhibit, “Building an Electric Future,” featuring Volkswagen, and chatted about her first car.
