Get The Access | Otis Is Democratizing Access To Culture Assets

Otis is looking to revolutionize and democratize access to alternative cultural assets. The platform is an app-based cultural investment marketplace geared towards the millennial generation. The app has officially launched, providing everyday aficionados and individuals with the ability to invest in alternative cultural assets like art, sneakers, comics, and other grails. By offering accessible entry points starting at $25, Otis opens the door for everyday individuals to own a share of commodities typically only obtainable by the wealthy.

Access to these artworks and grails allows the millennial generation to invest in things that they both love and understand. Each item has cultural significance and a story to tell, offering Otis users the opportunity to become more than just richer, but also enriched. Otis has launched with ten assets available to preview. The assets will become available for investment through a “drop” structure emulating that of apparel and streetwear brands. Kehinde Wiley’s painting “Saint Jerome Hearing the Trumpet of the Last Judgement” will be the first asset to drop on August 13th, followed by the others on a one by one basis.

Other assets will include works by KAWS, Murakami x Virgil Abloh, Yayoi Kusama, and fnnch. There will also be Nike Airmags, Supreme skateboards, Incredible Hulk 181 comic, Hermes Birkin bag, and a Rolex 6265 Daytona. The platform functions by acquiring high-quality assets, dividing them into smaller shares, and offering them as equity investments. When a user invests in an asset, they become a shareholder that owns that specific asset.

Similar to a stock market, users will be able to buy and sell their shares after a certain period of time. Otis assets are all meant to be experienced, so the platform will be securely housing and displaying them. They will also have an East Village, New York space opening soon. Head over to Otis’ website and find out more immediately.
