The one and only, H.E.R. has been a busy woman! The talented songstress recently hosted an intimate giveback event that took place recently in the Bay Area. In partnership with Foot Locker and the adidas Asterisk Collective, H.E.R. teamed up with the Oaktown Jazz Workshop. In doing so the artist inspired the kids to engage with their music students and the local community. The Asterisk Collective works with athletic and creative partners like Kid Cudi, Patrick Mahomes, Candace Parker, Donovan Mitchell and now H.E.R.
Since December 2018 they have helped creators improve their local community through meaningful initiatives that they’re passionate about. H.E.R. linked with the adidas Asterisk Collective and the Oaktown Jazz Workshop to make a sizable donation. Adding a collection of musical equipment and other special gifts. The goal is to encourage learning and growth in the musical world. As part of the Asterisk collective initiative by adidas and Foot Locker, Gabi chose a group of 10 deserving students to join her at the Lights On Festival for a VIP experience and meet & greet. H.E.R. and Foot Locker believe in creativity through music education, creating positive change through music. The donation will help provide quality education by serving the students of the Oaktown Jazz Workshop for years to come.
This is a great initiative and indeed a great way to give back to communities around the country. Take a look at images from the event below. Which also includes a custom pair of adidas Stan Smith Asterisks designed by Jordana Schrager. Stay tuned for more from H.E.R. and more from Foot Locker here.
