Giving Back! Buchanan’s Whisky Establishes Community Fridges In Miami

The good folks over at Buchanan’s Whisky are looking to make an impact in Miami. The iconic label has paired up with three of Miami’s beloved artists Reyna Noriega, AholSniffsGlue, and Vic Garcia, to give back to the city. They have collaborated with Buddy System MIA to feed some of the city’s most vulnerable families with new Community Fridges. Buddy System MIA is the nonprofit behind Miami’s Community Fridges, establishing and stocking 10 community fridges in Miami.

Community Fridges

The trio of artists each designed a fridge, leaving their mark on the community and celebrating Miami’s vibrancy in the process. The community fridges can be found in Miami’s most affected neighborhoods, stocked with free, nourishing foods. The goal is to provide more than 28,000 meals to local underserved communities through March 2021. The artist’s brought their color and style to the mix, beautifying communities while giving back in the process.

1 in 6 South Florida residents are facing food insecurity, and the goal of the initiative is to help improve food accessibility in food deserts, serving more than 125,000 meals per year.

Take a closer look at the community fridges in the images below and find out more about Buddy System MIA’s partnership with Buchanan’s Whisky immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art and lifestyle news coming soon.
