Gorillaz & Thundercat – Cracker Island

Their back! By “their,” we mean the Gorillaz. The crew has packed their bags and headed to the west coast, and today they return with a brand new single. The track is called “Cracker Island” and features Thundercat. The track has a funky, electronic aesthetic that includes Damon Albarn’s vocals blending seamlessly with Thundercat’s range.

The three-and-a-half-minute track was produced by Greg Kurstin, Remi Kabaka Jr., and the band themselves. A press release states that Murdoc, Noodle, Russel, and 2D have relocated to Silverlake, California. In the process, the group discovered that “the one truth to fix the world is to invite fans to join The Last Cult,” which is led by Murdoc. 2D stated: “It’s nice to be back, I’m well into our new tune, it brings back weird and scary memories of stuff that hasn’t happened yet.”

Check out the new single, “Cracker Island,” in the stream below and look for much more from the Gorillaz coming soon; we hope. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding new music coming very soon.
