As you probably know by now, we have a soft spot for the unique and eye-catching. From art to automobiles, style, and yes, architecture, we are drawn to the incredible. Today we get a look at a striking example of modern architecture known as The Suspended House. Beautiful, different, and quite impressive, the home is a minimal A-Frame cabin that seems to float from a rocky cliffside.
The Suspended House is the brainchild of Iranian architect Milad Eshtiyaghi. The home is imagined in Mendocino, California, anchored to the cliff while supported by a large mast that is stabilized by bracing cables.
The structure features triangular windows on three sides, providing near 360-degree views of the landscape. The glazing on the floor provides an interesting look downwards while also opening the home to views all around. A transparent terrace hangs below the structure to really add a compelling approach, offering a lounge area and a swing.
