For the past four decades, Stüssy has been keeping the world stylish. Known for their iconic streetwear designs, the imprint is back to celebrate 40 years of classic style. Today we get our first look at Stüssy’s 40th-anniversary capsule collection, which celebrates the past while looking toward the future. The collection consists of a limited-edition varsity jacket, T-shirt, and ring, arriving after another 40th-anniversary collab with COMME des GARÇONS.
The label’s IST varsity jacket has been a staple since the 80s, and it’s now a showcase of their heritage. The 40th-anniversary design features an International Stussy Tribe 8-Ball Globe patch on the back. Elsewhere we see the label’s signature “Earth in the corner pocket.” Each piece purchase from the brand’s flagship Chapters or Dover Street Market will be custom embroidered at the chest with its respective city name.
The other jackets will be marked with “NY.L.T.LA.” Cali Thornhill Dewitt and Tremaine Emory designed the T-Shirt, boasting graphics that call for “unity” and fighting against racism. The tee comes in white, while the capsule is finished off with a gold-plated silver ring. The ring itself features the label’s signature motif with inscriptions: “FORTY YEARS” on the inside and “Stüssy 1980” and “Tribe 2020” on the outside. The collection is the perfect way to celebrate 40 years of style, and Stüssy does it well.
Take a closer look at the new capsule collection in the images and look for the collection now on the label’s website and Chapter Stores and Dover Street Market. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more style and streetwear selections coming very soon.
