Icons In Style | JOURNAL STANDARD Reveals Vintage Maxell T-Shirt Collection

Back when burning music on the CD-R/RW was a thing, and we made cassette recordings, Maxell was the best in the game. The name stood out; it was simple and boasted easily recognizable branding. The good folks over at JOURNAL STANDARD are tapping into the nostalgia of that time, offering an eye-catching new t-shirt collection. The new Maxell T-shirt collection is comprised of four tees that include that iconic branding.

The tees are seen with “Sound Recording”, “PROFESSIONAL,” “Magnetic Gray Bar,” and, of course, the “Blown Away Guy.” The last option is pulled from that iconic 80’s ad with a male sitting in a chair holding on for his life when a recording of Richard Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” was played. His hair is blown back, the lamp and wine glass moved effortlessly, and all from the sound of a Maxell cassette tape. The new tee collection is sure to take you back in time while stepping up your style.

Take a closer look at the collection in the images below and look for the range now at all JOURNAL STANDARD stores in Japan. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more style and streetwear selections coming soon.
