Know as MAX, The Magnolia Art Xchange is Ocala, Florida’s first art incubator. MAX is designed to further visual artists’ creativity and professionalism. Located in the historic Union Station in Downtown Ocala, the space is to be a collaborative resource hub for artists, educators, and art enthusiasts. MAX will also strive to expand the cultural presence in the city dramatically. Artists have moved into MAX, and they’ve been making their mark on the community already. Now it’s time that we commemorate art history in the making. This Thursday, November 7, 2019, the Rotary Clubs of Marion County will host an “ARTINI” experience in celebration of Magnolia Art Xchange’s grand opening.
A MAX Grand Opening!
The evening serves to honor the rebirth of a historic space, the power of visual art, as well as its influence in the community. ‘ARTINI’ will also showcase how visual art inspires culinary and mixology cultures. Five original works of art provide the inspiration for specific “Artinis” crafted by local mixologists. The works of art will be displayed at tasting stations where samples of the cocktails are served.
The ‘ARTINI’ artists include Justin Alsedek, Juan Carlos Cahue, Carmen Rojas Gines, Jordan Shapot, and Maggie Weakley. The mixologists responsible for mixing some incredible spirits are Pablo Sanchez from La Cuisine, Deep Singh from Stella’s Modern Pantry, and Ben Payne from Pi On Broadway. There will also be mixologists from Ivy on the Square and Braised Onion. The spirits are provided by Van Gogh Vodka, while Infinite Ale Works will provide additional libations for the event.
Before the evening concludes, the five works of art will be auctioned off. In addition to those five pieces, there will be silent auction items, small bites provided by La Casella Catering, and so much more. We can’t forget that live music will be provided by the incredibly talented, Left on Broadway.
The best part is that all proceeds from the event will support the Magnolia Art Xchange. The proceeds will help position MAX to be a creative space that will push the revitalization of the Ocala Midtown District into the future.
