The 3D artist known as Andre Oshea has invaded the news feed today. The artist has been commissioned to create an NFT tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman. The NFT will be included in the “Everyone Wins’ goody bags presented to Oscar nominees. The NFT itself will be sold via a two-day auction, with proceeds going to The Colon Cancer Foundation. The foundation combats the same disease that took the life of the Black Panther star.
Boseman is nominated in the Lead Actor category for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Oshea, the 28-year-old, Atlanta-based animator, has worked with Adult Swim and John Legend in the past. He spoke about NFTs and his creative process and the opportunity to create a tribute to Chadwich Boseman. Oshea stated: “NFTs have really changed my creative process.” He added, “Now I focus less on making clients happy and entirely on my own creative visions and explorations. I also take immense pride in being a Black man, and NFTs allow me to bring that into my artwork in really cool ways.”
Oshea’s Chadwick Boseman NFT tribute will be auctioned on Rarible from Sunday 25th April – Tuesday 27th April. Take a closer look at the design in the image and place your bid soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art news and NFT news coming very soon.
