Inside An Icon! Frank Lloyd Wright’s Freeman House

Way back in 1935, the Freeman House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, was completed. The structure is considered one of the architect’s most important designs, offering a unique look and appeal inside and out. The Freeman House is located in the Hollywood Hills, boasting stunning views of Los Angeles and the LA Basin. The dwelling features a striking curbside appeal thanks to its 12,000 textured concrete blocks.

The textile design is exposed on both the exterior and interior, also notable for being one of just four projects by Wright to feature the ornate blocks. The home was commissioned by Samuel and Harriet Freeman, serving as a salon space for entertaining.

The space features a hearth, semi-open kitchen, two bedrooms, multiple outdoor terraces, and roof decks. In 1986, the couple donated the property to the University of Southern California. Now the home is being sold with many of its original furnishings, though the new owners will need an extensive restoration.
