Inspired By Origami | Blind House By Boon Design

The good folks over at Boon Design have created something special in the middle of Bangkok. The Blind House was created as a tranquil retreat in the middle of the city. The urban sanctuary features a glazed ground floor that encloses the main living areas. An origami-inspired sculptural hill provides space for the sunken garage and shrine. There is also a row of hedges that conceal the upper level from view.

The transparent facade is a nice touch while a concrete plane is supporting the second story, creating the illusion of a mass floating above the landscape. The upper level features a rusted metal lattice that provides a sense of privacy while filtering sunlight. The interior is host to a sleek, minimal aesthetic that is lined in natural materials. These details come together to create a relaxing space for Zen living and practicing meditation in the city.

Check out the stunning home in the images below and find out more about the structure from Boon Design. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture coming very soon.
