Intricate Illusions! Vile’s Incredible 3D Graffiti Illusions

Over the past few decades, graffiti has seen quite an evolution. From a form of self-expression in the city streets to galleries around the world. Graffiti has become more than street art, rising to the ranks of fine art. Portuguese graffiti artist Rodrigo Miguel Sepúlveda Nunes, known as Vile, combines street art and fine art flawlessly. Vile creates these beautiful 3D graffiti murals that take block style lettering to a whole new level.

Vile’s pieces blend lettering that seems pulled from the “Greetings from…” vintage postcards, created inside spaces while creating an eye-catching optical illusion in the way. Vile adds the backgrounds in the interiors of each letter of his name, creating an illusion that seems like he has physically cut through the wall. The through-the-looking-glass effect also features backgrounds like space scenes, gardens, and abandoned rooms. These details blend with the natural aspects of the walls they are placed upon. Each one of his works are in-depth and intricate. So flawlessly detailed that it’s hard to tell if they’ve been cut or painted.

His clever designs are well executed, eye-catching and flawlessly built around his name. Take a closer look at some more Vile’s intricate work in the images below and head over to his website to find out more. Keep it locked for more art, street art, fine art pieces, and graffiti coming soon.
