Sure, we may have been indulging in burgers over the past few months on the Downtown Burger Tour, but we could use something different. Shake Shack is back, and they are here to bring back a fan-favorite. The word on the interwebs is that the Hot Chick’n, a spicy version of the classic Chick’n Shack Sandwich, is set to return.
The item is one of the most requested items to date. The Hot Chick’n features a piece of chicken that has been slow-cooked in a creamy buttermilk marinade, hand-dipped through seasoned flour and crisp-fried. The chicken is then dusted with a guajillo and cayenne pepper blend paired with Shack-made cherry-pepper slaw and pickles. It’s served on a fluffy potato bun, further adding to its charm and flavor.
To celebrate the re-release of the Hot Chick’n, Shake Shack has also prepared new accompanying menu items. These include Hot Chick’n Bites, Hot Spicy Fries, and Hot Spicy Cheese Fries. Each carries the same guajillo and cayenne pepper spice and served with ranch sauce.
If that wasn’t enough, Shake Shack will offer all of the Hot Chick’n items in two spice levels – Hot and Extra Hot. However, if you order through the Shack App or online, you can opt for a third spice level dubbed Fire.
