Last week J Cole announced his return. The wordsmith will soon drop off a new project, this one entitled The Off Season. Ahead of the album’s May 14th arrival, J. Cole is back with a brand new single for our listening enjoyment, serving up a new one called “Interlude.” The single serves as Jermaine’s first from the upcoming album, showing off his talents behind the mic yet again.
The track finds the MC getting down over top of an impressive and infectious instrumental, again putting together a display of his lyrical prowess throughout. The track is pushed by these crisp drum sections, which are seamlessly meshed with some highly addictive melodies. The result is a solid home for J Cole to display his talents. He took to Twitter before teasing the artwork, stating: “Told myself I would drop the album all at once. Sometimes you gotta say fuck it tho.”
