Jadakiss – ‘Ignatius’

It’s been five years since we got a new project from Jadakiss. Today that all changes. The wordsmith returns with a brand new album for our listening enjoyment, cooking up some new heat entitled ‘Ignatius.’ The new album arrives after projects like Friday on Elm Street with Fabolous and Filthy America… with his brethren in rhyme, The LOX. Today Jada serves up something of his own, doing so with his fifth solo album. The project is his first since signing his deal with Roc Nation, and he certainly doesn’t disappoint.

The album title is an ode to Ignatius “Icepick” Jackson, a Ruff Ryders A&R/producer, manager, and personal friend to Kiss. The wordsmith spoke about the album and stated: “The project is beautiful.” He went on to add, “It’s not like nothing out there. It’s not turn-up; it’s a real pain… just real music. It’s real musical. It’s beautiful. You need it. I love how it’s put together sonically. I think my fans, old and new, will be able to really enjoy this body of work.” The LP includes thirteen brand new tracks, including “ME” and “Kisses to the Sky” with Rick Ross. Along the way, Jada is joined by the likes of Pusha T, Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, 2 Chainz, DeJ Loaf, Nino Man, and more.

Check out the new album, ‘Ignatius,’ in the stream below, and look for more new music coming very soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
