Back in 2017, after nearly ten years, Jay-Z and Jaz-O reunited. The two came together during a 4:44 Tour stop, touching base and mending fences in the process. Two years later, it was announced that Jaz was signing a deal with Roc Nation and his former protege. Now the wordsmith is back in the news, ready to kick off his campaign with a brand new single. Jaz-O invades the interwebs with a brand new track called “M-A-R-See-Why.” The track is his first Roc Nation single, serving as an ode to his old home.
The dedication to the Marcy Projects that helped raise him is a smooth one. The track is driven by these jazzy melodic elements that are backed by some slick, smooth, and snappy drum sections. Jaz takes to the instrumental and puts together a solid showcase of his lyrical talents, putting together a solid single for our listening pleasures. The track is silky, and Jaz delivers some nice quotables along the way. No word on where the track might live, or what’s on deck for Jaz-O, but we will certainly be on the lookout.
