Back in February, the American artist Jeff Koons partnered with BMW to release his take on the M850i Gran Coupé. The 8 X Jeff Koons ride was limited to 99 examples, and the 99th iteration is heading to auction with Christie’s New York. Koons’ Americana-styled iconography is seen adorning the car in a pop art style.
The design reportedly took hundreds of hours of professional paintwork per vehicle while paying homage to the artist’s art car from 2010. The M850i Gran Coupé features a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 with 523 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque, along with an Adaptive M Suspension.
Ninety-eight examples were available to customers, and each cost $350,000 USD. Christie’s New York will auction the 99th artist signed iteration online on April 4 at 8:30 p.m. EST. All the proceeds from the auction will benefit the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC).
