The beautiful and incredibly talented, Jessie Reyez is back! The songstress returns with something new for our viewing enjoyment, serving up a new video for her single “Intruders.” The track comes to life in a vivid and unique video that is a play on Disney’s Pocahontas. The video finds Jessie coming to life in animated form, showing off her vocal prowess and range while adding depth to the track through some powerful visuals.
She recently opened up about the video and the concept. Ms. Reyez stated: “The video serves as an allegory for today’s society and the detrimental effects of governmental and economic institutions built on oppression and theft.” She went on to add, “Colonialism is in the mitochondria of racism.” The songstress also announced that she will donate 100% of her royalties earned from streams “Intruders” for the remainder of 2020. The royalties earned will be donated to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights organization.
