Kanye West – Hurricane Ft. The Weeknd & Lil Baby

Kanye West has been all over the news feeds recently, maybe not for the best reasons. Today he returns with something new for our viewing enjoyment, serving up the visuals for his stand-out track “Hurricane.” The GRAMMY-nominated song is from his tenth studio album DONDA, featuring The Weeknd and Lil Baby.

The video is entirely CGI, opening with an image of a prison near the beach and a beam of light shining into the sky. The Weeknd sings: “Finally free, found the God in me/And I want you to see, I can walk on water/Thousand miles from shore, I can float on the water/Father, hold me close, don’t let me drown” as inmates dress is YEEZY clothing flee the prison.

The Weeknd and Lil Baby also appear in the music video, seen as similarly dressed characters. People ascend to the sky near the light beam as the track progresses, though the video is filled with other striking visuals throughout. The track closes with “Father, hold me close, don’t let me drown/I know you won’t,” a black and white image of a natural disaster and a fallen American flag ends the clip.

Interesting, to say the least. Check out the video in the clip below and look for more from Kanye West coming soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more new music coming soon.
