Kendrick Lamar’s ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ Was 2021’s Highest-Selling Rap Vinyl Album

2021 is done and over, and it was a big year for vinyl. It was also a big year for Kendrick Lamar vinyl, as his album good kid, m.A.A.d city, was named the highest-selling rap vinyl album of 2021. Sure, the album was released nearly a decade ago, but it’s certainly something incredible; still.

According to the numbers shared by Billboard, the album sold a total of 194,000 vinyl copies last year. Not only did that make it the highest-selling rap vinyl album of the year, but also the 10th highest-selling vinyl album overall. Other titles in the top ten include Adele’s 30, which sold 318,000 copies; Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, which sold 252,000 copies and the Beatles’ Abbey Road, which sold 201,000 copies.

Kendrick’s longtime producer Sounwave recently teased that he has new music coming, and many of us hope it’s the follow-up to DAMN. However, no word just yet. What we do know is that Kendrick’s next album will be his last with Top Dawg Entertainment.

Congrats to Kendrick Lamar. Keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more music news and new music coming soon.
