King Von – ‘What It Means To Be King’

Before his tragic passing in 2020, King Von was on his way to becoming one of the biggest stars in Chicago’s rap scene. Von recorded a barrage of music before his death, and some of those tracks have been compiled for a new project. The album is entitled ‘What It Means To Be King,’ which serves as the artist’s first posthumous project. The nineteen-track project includes a slew of excellent material and a bevy of guests appearances.

Along the way, Von is joined by the likes of Lil Durk, 21 Savage, G Herbo, Moneybagg Yo, Fivio Foreign, Tee Grizzley, and Dreezy. The album is led by the singles “War” and “Don’t Play That,” however, the rest of the album is littered with outstanding new tracks. Some of our favorites include “Straight To It” with Fivio Foreign, “Evil Twins,” “Mad,” “Hard To Trust” featuring Dreezy, and “Chase The Bag.”

The project showcases the artist’s abilities behind the mic, though it is a bittersweet listening experience. If you haven’t heard the project yet, check it out in the stream below. If you have, listen again. Keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from King Von and all the best in new music.
