Labor Day is upon us and for a lot of us it marks the end of summer but it certainly doesn’t mark the end of a good time. This Labor Day your team at The Culture Curators (great website) has put together a few drink recipes to help keep the party going this weekend. For the rest of the week, we will be sharing some recipes for you to enjoy responsibly with family and friends.
Part 1 of the Labor Day Drinks series has three recipes that offer a twist on a traditional drink.
The Recipes:
Al Fresco Collins
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Johnnie Walker Black Label
1.5 oz Elderberry Soda
1.5 oz Ginger Beer
Instructions: Build in glass. Pour Scotch, elderberry soda, and ginger beer into an ice-filled Collins glass. Squeeze in a lemon wedge and stir gently.
Garnish: Lemon wedge
Pina-Rita (A Pina-Colada Margarita Mash-Up)
Ingredients
* 1 cup cream of coconut
* 1 cup coconut tequila
* 1/2 cup pineapple tidbits
* 1/2 cup pineapple juice plus more if needed
* juice of half a lime
* 3-4 cups of ice
* additional lime wedges for garnish optional
Instructions:
* Blend all ingredients in a blender until ice is completely crushed
* Pour into a margarita glass, garnish with a lime wedge
Mint Julep Lemonade
Ingredients:
* 2 ounces Kentucky Bourbon
* 1 ounce simple syrup
* 1 ounce lemon juice fresh squeezed
* 4-5 Mint leaves muddled
* 1/2 cup Lemon sparkling water cold
Instructions
* In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, add the mint leaves and muddle. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice. Add the bourbon, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Fit the cocktail shaker with a tight-fitting lid and shake vigorously.
* Fill a glass with ice, and pour the cocktail over the ice. Top off the cocktail with the lemon sparkling water. Garnish glass with a lemon slice and mint sprig, if desired. Enjoy right away while cold.
