Legends of Speed | 1987 Lotus Esprit Turbo HC Coupe

As you can probably tell, we have a passion for automobiles. The new, the old, the custom, and the classics, we find an appeal in them all. Today we get a look at a real legend and a gem at that. Back in 1976, Lotus introduced the Espirit, a vehicle that went on to have a 30-year production run. Today we get a look at a  1987 Lotus Esprit Turbo HC Coupe. This beautiful machine is one of the best examples of the car before McLaren F1 designer Peter Stevens redesigned it.

The Giorgetto Giugiaro design features a classic wedge design with all of its original details intact. The vehicle is powered by a turbocharged four making 215 horsepower, while the car weighs in at just over a ton. The Esprit is a perfect example of the Lotus philosophy. The car underwent a refresh in 2018, with the engine removed and several parts rebuilt or replaced. The interior is in exceptional condition, while the odometer boasts just 54,000 since new.

Check out this impressive machine in the images below and find out more about the vehicle from The Market right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more classic cars coming very soon.
