Legends Of Speed | 1996 Zagato Raptor Concept

Over here at The Culture Curators, we have a need for speed. Who doesn’t like to go fast? Am I right? Zagato has a reputation for building some impressive and rather eye-catching automobiles. Today we get a look at a legend, a rare ride known as the Zagato Raptor. This stunning machine debuted at the 1996 Geneva Motor Show, aiming to bridge the gap between the Lamborghini Diablo and the then-upcoming Canto.

Neither the Raptor or the Canto were produced, becoming one-off rarities instead. This particular 1996 Zagato Raptor Concept is something special. The ride was built on the Diablo VT’s space-frame chassis, boasting all-wheel-drive. Power comes from a 5.7-liter V12 while boasting carbon fiber bodywork for a lightweight approach. Figures indicate a 0-60 mph time of fewer than four seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph.

Zagato completed the project in less than four months. The Raptor has an undeniable futuristic look, rocking features like a rear-hinged engine bay. This bad boy is the only one ever made, which is sure to garner it some much-deserved attention. The Zagato Raptor is a one-of-one Italian supercar with some of the most interesting features seen anywhere.

Take a closer look at this 1996 Zagato Raptor in the images below and head over to RM Sotheby’s to find out more. Place your bid, and be sure to keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more classic cars coming soon.
