Legends of the Road | 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster

We have quite a soft spot for outstanding classic cars. Mercedes-Benz has been crafting icons for decades, and today we get a look at one that is currently available for purchase. Today we get a look at a beautiful  1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. The 300 SL Roadster took the “Gullwing” addition and opted for a convertible top and standard entry. It became an instant classic upon its arrival, and this particular iteration is nearly flawlessly.

The ride used the same space frame chassis and three-liter inline-six, and it’s maintained its status as a landmark in sports car design. This beautiful modern has quite a history to match its looks. The ride was purchased new in New York by a Pan Am pilot. The vehicle was then sold to a pal in 1970 before heading off to Europe. The ride retains all of its original details while boasting a black over a red interior. The 300 SL Roadster even boasts numbers-matching mechanicals and documentation, making it a must-have for any classic car collector.

Sleek, stylish, and iconic, this is certainly a great vehicle for any collection. Take a closer look at the ride in the images below and head over to Auxietre & Schmidt to find out more. Place your bid and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more classic cars coming soon.
