It’s been a minute, but Leikeli47 returns. The wordsmith has been on her grind for years, creating some impressive music along the way. Today the rapper is back with something new and news that she will release her third album, Shape Up, sometime this year. Before that, though, she returns with an infectious new track that we can’t seem to get enough of. The single is called “Zoom,” and it’s one we’d suggest adding t your listening rotation immediately.
The new track finds Leikeli47 showing off her lyrical prowess and wit behind the mic. The track, “Zoom,” is driven by this simple, effective, and extremely catchy instrumental. The track is driven by some hard-hitting, slick drum work, which is paired with minimal melodies. The combination provides a brilliant soundscape for Leikeli to do her thing, and as always, she doesn’t disappoint.
The track also comes with a unique set of visuals that will take you back in time. The side-scroller, Nintendo-inspired video, finds Leikeli and “a mysterious new partner named Moriah” taking on adversaries of all sorts throughout. The video matches the track flawlessly and provides even more depth to an already contagious track. This is one we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on.
