Life At An Angle | The Slope House

In case you couldn’t tell, we have a soft spot for exceptional architecture. From old designs to contemporary creations, there is something captivating and compelling about beautiful design. Today we get a look at a striking modern abode situated on a bank overlooking Chile’s Rapel Lake. Dubbed the Slope House, the dwelling was inspired by its slanted plot. The home comes crafted from a series of stacked, rectilinear volumes. The staggered placement of these volumes provides minimal disruption to the land.

The exterior of the home follows the property’s gradient and descends down to the edge of the water. The exterior is clad in pine, while steel framing complements the wooded hillside. The home flawlessly blends into the surroundings while the interior follows the same palette of timber and steel. This helps add to its charm, offering a warm and welcoming aesthetic throughout. The minimalist atmosphere is a nice touch while living spaces are spread throughout three levels of the home. Each floor features expansive glazing and an outdoor terrace, which offers unrivaled views of the lakeside scenery.
