Life’s A Beach | The Los Vilos House

We all have an idea as to what our “dream home” would look like. Pritzker Prize architect Ryue Nishizawa changes everything with a design known as the Los Vilos House. The home sits on the coast of Chile, following the rocky terrain it calls home. The weekend home is topped with a wavy concrete roof that flows toward the water. The curves not only form a unique and organic silhouette, it also defines the interior’s three living spaces.

The home features a sauna in the front, then a bedroom and gathering area, while the kitchen and dining area to the rear. Off the back, the roof expands to create a covered outdoor terrace. This space is perfect for entertaining, dining, or simply relaxing and taking ocean views. The canopy is supported by steel columns and glazing walls, immersing the space in unrivaled coastal views.

Take a look at The Los Vilos House in the images below and find out more about the home from Ochoalcubo. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture and contemporary designs coming very soon.
