Lil Nas X – Montero (Call Me By Your Name)

He’s back! This past Friday, Lil Nas X made his highly-anticipated return with a brand new single and an accompanying video. The new track is entitled “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” an impressive new track produced by Take a DayTrip, Omer Fedi, and Roy Enzo. The Grammy-winning MC shows off his vulnerable side, embracing his sexuality in the process.

The track’s title is an homage to the 2017 coming-of-age film with Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. Nas X raps, “Cocaine and drinkin’ with your friends / You live in the dark, boy, I cannot pretend / I’m not phased, only here to sin / If Eve ain’t in your garden, you know that you can,” raps Lil Nas. “Call me when you want, call me when you need / Call me in the morning, I’ll be on the way.”

The track’s visuals are vivid and fitting, bold, eye-catching, and something we wouldn’t recommend sleeping on. This young man is pushing the boundaries and shows off his growth in the process.

Take a few minutes from your busy day and check out the new single, “Montero,” in the stream below, and look for more from the wordsmith coming soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for all the best in new music.
