Lil Wayne – ‘Funeral’

Way back in 2018, Lil Wayne dropped off Tha Carter V. The wordsmith has stayed quite busy since then, touring with Blink-182, reuniting with Juvenile and serving up a handful of guest verses. This past Friday, Lil Tunechi made his highly anticipated new album, ‘Funeral.’ The project arrives less than two years after C5 and serves as his thirteenth studio album. Weezy spoke about the new project, and keeping up with today’s sounds.

He stated: “What the new thing is for me is actually trying to put out music that sounds a little more like today’s music.” He went on to add, “What that means for me … is adding hooks. I forget about hooks. I forget ’em. Somebody gotta come in the booth and stop me from rapping, like, ‘This is where you stop it and add a hook.’” The new album, ‘Funeral,’ comes locked in with 24 tracks and includes features from Big Sean, O.T. Genasis, 2 Chainz, the late XXXTentacion, Lil Baby, Jay Rock, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, the Migos’ Takeoff and The-Dream.

Check out the new album in the stream below and look for much more new music coming soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
