We’ve seen some interesting architecture, but we’ve seen nothing quite like the ZeroCabin Krul. Eye-catching, functional, unique, and compelling, this dwelling is situated on the coast of Chile and created by the brilliant minds over at ZeroBuilders. The ZeroCabin features a sleek, modern design that includes a timber frame wrapped in structural insulated panels made from pulverized cardboard.
The unique form was inspired by the landscape around it, boasting thermal windows toward the east to take advantage of the views, as well as the incoming sunlight. This helps to heat the interior rather than relying on fossil fuels.
The house also features a 2kW off-grid solar system and a Becker Stove, which work cohesively to heat water and prepare food. The structure is elevated off of the ground with a wooden platform, which means minimal disruption to the natural environment. This is a prime example of 100% autonomous living.
Take a closer look at the ZeroCabin Krul in the images and head over to ZeroBuilders to find out more right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding architecture coming very soon.
