When it comes to speed and sleek design, Audi has certainly made a name for itself. Today the iconic automaker is back in the news, though this time around, they are looking toward the future. Today we get our first look at the Audi Skysphere Concept. Modern, unique, and bold, the vehicle pulls inspiration from cars of the prewar era combined with the latest in modern technology.
The concept is a look at the future of mobility, boasting a fastback design with a stunning visual impact. The Skysphere features a long hood and a short deck, as well as a retractable fastback. However, it’s what lies beneath that makes it quite impressive. The concept car features a steer-by-wire system that controls both the front and rear wheels and two driving modes.
Sport and GT modes shorten or lengthen the wheelbase by up to 10 inches, giving the driver a fast-reacting, short-wheelbase sports car or a comfortable, long-wheelbase grand tourer for cross-continental trips. The fast-reacting, short-wheelbase sports car or a comfortable, long-wheelbase grand tourer for cross-continental trips produces 623 horsepower with a range of 300 miles.
