Back at it once again, adidas returns, though this time around with a special collaboration with size? The retailer recently launched the latest adidas Superstar collection, inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet. The pack was released in celebration of size’s 20th birthday and the 24th anniversary of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 modern adaption.
The collaborative effort features a two-shoe pack that honors Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. The ‘Romeo’ iteration of the Superstar includes bold colors and clashing prints along the upper. The design was inspired by the patterned shirts worn by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film. Each side panel is draped in tropical prints, while the outer panel showcases a red Hawaiian print. The inside of the sneaker is a nod to the blue shirt from the movie poster. To finish the sneaker off, a gold ‘Romeo’ signature replaces the adidas Superstar branding.
As for the ‘Juliet,’ the sneaker is adorned in a bright pink ombre colorway with white laces, heel tap, and toe box. The signature Superstar branding is swapped out with gold ‘Juliet’ embossing. The inner references the bold prints of the ‘Romeo’ while the outer stripes feature a monochromatic pink hue. The sneakers both arrive in special-edition branded packaging.
