Luxury By The River | The St-Ignace House

Living by the water is a dream that many of us have. The St-Ignace House offers a beautiful modern retreat along Quebec’s Saint Lawrence River, doing so with a focus on water views throughout. The dwelling was designed by Nathalie Thibodeau Architecte. Comprised of two volumes, both are clad in cedar slats. The small unit is covered with dark plans, while the main living spaces are brought to life with lighter hues.

The smaller unit features a studio, while the main living space is much lighter and airy. A void in the exterior creates an entrance, while sweeping views greet visitors immediately. This also serves as a dramatic backdrop for the open living, kitchen, and dining areas. The interior is outfitted with minimal furnishings, opting for a clean and calming approach. This helps to keep the focus on the landscape, as opposed to distracting from it.

Take a closer look at this beautiful modern home in the images below and learn more about the design from Nathalie Thibodeau Architecte right now. In the meantime, be sure to keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding modern architecture coming soon.
