As you can probably tell by now, we have a soft spot for unique design, especially architecture. Today we get a look at another fine example of modern architecture, this one known as the Cat Hill House. The home is situated on a hilltop in the Hudson Valley, offering a beautiful retreat from everyday reality. The home adapts to its surroundings with a gravity-defying design that is sleek and eye-catching.
The main living areas of the house are located in a rectangular volume at ground level. Floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the rear of the home to the views of the Catskill Mountains and a creek below. A section of the home branches off from the primary structure, expanding overtop of the sloping landscape. The extension features a gallery that leads to a fitness studio.
The dwelling was designed for a marathon runner, and the glass-enclosed room seems to float in the trees. The structure is nothing short of unique, boasting a warm and welcoming approach while keeping things minimal and clean throughout.
