Luxury With A View | Casa Sombreros

Patagonia is home to some of the most incredible and surreal landscapes on the globe. It’s a dream destination for folks looking for a rural retreat, though its remote location is less than ideal for building. Today we get a look at a stunning structure that calls Patagonia home. Casa Sombreros is the brainchild of SAA Arquitectura + Territorio. This beautiful modern home comes created thanks to a prefab construction method.

Casa Sombreros overlooks Patagonia’s largest lake, offering a beautiful modern abode to take it all in. The home comes crafted entirely from prefabricated materials and assembled in five months. The shingled dwelling comprised of two intersecting volumes perched over the bank on steel stilts provides excellent views throughout. The foundation of the structure comes secured directly to the bedrock for added stability. This design also allows for minimal disruption to the existing terrain.

The interior of the home features native timber lining the open living spaces, complementing the rugged scenery. The east-facing glazing provides all the views, while the home boasts wrap-around outdoor areas to take in the natural setting. The interior spaces open seamlessly to these decks, transitioning to the outdoors for unrivaled views of the natural surroundings. The glacial waters and the Andes in the distance add to the charm of the structure, while it provides a modern retreat in a beautiful and eye-catching setting.

Take a closer look at this incredible home in the images below and learn more about the structure from SAA Arquitectura + Territorio. Keep it locked here with us at The Culture Curators for more amazing contemporary designs coming very soon.
