Madlib & Four Tet – ‘Sound Ancestors’

The one and only, Madlib is back. The prolific artist returns with a brand new project, unleashing a new album for our listening enjoyment entitled ‘Sound Ancestors.’ The new album finds the producer linking up with Four Tet for an exceptional example of their respective talents. The album is the latest from Madlib and his Madlib Invasion imprint. The project also serves as the first release in his latest takeover, which includes releasing a new album every month this year. ‘Sound Ancestors’ is the first release.

The project is touted as “music by Madlib” and “edited, arranged and mastered by Kieran Hebden.” The project is loaded with tracks, loops, ideas, and sound experiments that Madlib had sent Four Tet throughout the years. They were then pieced together to form a stunning project full of funk, soul, ’60s rock, jazz, and more.

The album features sixteen tracks, led by “Road of the Lonely Ones” and “Dirtknock.” The two showcase their respective talents flawlessly and put together quite a beautiful showcase of their abilities.

Take a minute from your busy day and check out the new album, ‘Sound Ancestors’, in the stream below. While you’re at it, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more new music coming very soon.
