Masego – Big Girls

If you know anything about us here at The Culture Curators, know that we love great music. Masego always delivers some impressive material, and he’s back at it once again. This time around Masego is back with an infectious new single entitled “Big Girls.” The track is a self-proclaimed ode to full-bodied women, and body positivity and the artist provides a dose of his genre-bending “Traphousejazz” sounds. The track finds the crooner showing off his smooth and soulful talents while providing something quite impressive.

Masego sings: “Fender guitars and they hang in the air / Ladies are large, they look amazing in here”. The track is pushed by this slapping bassline while effortless blending elements of reggae and electric R&B. The track has an undeniable hip-hop edge, while Masego gets quite an impressive home to showcase his talents. Inspiration for the track came during a recent trip to Kenya. The artist stated: “I was in Nairobi, and there was a group of women that were the life on the party — I’m talkin’ Lizzo energy.” He added, “I asked someone who they were, and they told me, ‘that’s the Big Girls Crew.’ So I made a song about this party I went to on the great continent and just painted a scene of this cool event, called it the Cake Club, Big Girls get in free.”

Do yourself a favor and check out this contagious new effort in the stream below and keep it locked for more from Masego coming soon. While you’re at it, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
