Guess who’s back? For the fifth time since June, Mayer Hawthorne is back with a brand new single. This one is called “M.O.,” short for Modus Operandi, and finds Mr. Hawthorne again bringing his a-game. The track follows a bevy of outstanding singles from the artist, and he again provides us with something contagious and impressive. The track comes after his previous releases, “Over,” “The Great Divide,” “The Game,” and “Healing.”
The Tuxedo singer/songwriter co-produced the track with Wayne Gordon, cooking up something smooth and contagious, effortlessly showing off all of his talents in the process. Mayer even opens up about the track, describing it flawlessly. He stated: “It’s a trippy love song about the need to bury an old relationship before a new one can begin.” While he’s been releasing a steady stream of new material as of late, there is still no word on if he’s working on something bigger. While we patiently await a new project from Mr. Hawthorne, this will certainly suffice.
