The one and only Mick Jenkins is back. The wordsmith returns to the interwebs today with a brand new single, gearing up to drop off a brand new project as well. It’s been a minute, but after a rather laid back year in 2019, he’s ready to ramp things up. Today he’s back with an infectious new single entitled “Carefree.” The track is the lead single from his impending project, The Circus, which is slated to arrive soon. Mick never falls short, and he certainly doesn’t start on this one.
“Carefree” is driven by this impressive backdrop supplied by Black Milk, who also delivers something special. Inspired by some snappy, hard-hitting drum work and these cool melodic elements, the track makes a perfect home for Mr. Jenkins to do his thing. He hits the ground running and unleashes a barrage of outstanding bars in the process. This man always delivers something worth rocking with, and “Carefree” is just the latest. The track is one of seven songs that will appear on The Circus. The project will also feature a lone guest appearance from EARTHGANG. Production will be handled by the likes of Black Milk, Hit-Boy, IAMNOBODI, Bizness Boi, Beat Butcha, and more.
