The electric tech startup NAWA is looking to change the work of electric motorcycles. They will soon take over the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to showcase the NAWA Racer Motorcycle. This sleek and futuristic looking machine is a modern interpretation of the classic cafe racer, which features a hybrid drive system. The motorcycle features NAWA’s ultracapacitor, which offers faster charging, higher range, and more power over a battery alone.
For example, a 0.1 kWh ultracapacitor battery pack combined with a 9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides 93 miles of range and makes 100 horsepower. This equates to a three-second 0-60 time and a top speed of 100 MPH. NAWA indicates that in city driving, the range can increase to over 180 miles thanks to superior regenerative braking. The system is fully scalable with plans to apply the system to larger vehicles.
