NFTs are dominating the news feed these days. Today the good folks over at Jacob & Co. are back in the news, doing so by getting into the world of NFTs with a brand new timepiece. Today the label has revealed the “NFT SF24 Tourbillon,” the company’s first-ever NFT watch. The timepiece is a one-of-a-kind and will be going on auction on ArtGrails with a starting bid of $1,000 USD.
The watch comes rocking a working split-flap system, displaying different types of cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The design features short 10-second animations and comes with a digital box and a certificate. Speaking about the new venture’s goal, Jacob & Co.’s CEO Benjamin Arabov had something hopeful to say. He stated: “My hope is for Jacob & Co. to become the first luxury brand to launch a successful NFT and pave the way for other luxury brands to start launching products & collections through NFT. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ NFTs will have a place in the watches and luxury world, but ‘when.’ For Jacob & Co., the ‘when’ is now, and we are prepared to pioneer this shift.”
