The one and only, Monica is back! Fresh off her VERZUZ battle with Brandy, the songstress returns with something new for our listening enjoyment. This time around, she pairs up with Lil Baby for a brand new heater entitled “Trenches.” The track was originally shared during her VERZUZ battle with Brandy. The two ladies went head to head, sharing vintage tracks, classic hits, and underrated gems from throughout their career.
After diving into their catalogs, Monica decided to unleash something new, serving up this new anthem. The track, “Trenches,” was produced by The Neptunes, yes, Pharrell and Chad. The fellas laced Monica with an incredible home to do her thing, and she reciprocates nicely on the vocal side of things.
The smooth instrumental provides Monica and Lil Baby an ideal home to excel, and both do so effortlessly. Lil Baby adds his unadulterated and undeniable talents to the track, giving us some of his smooth delivery and refreshing style along the way.
